Hastande, buldrande hjul av tid du ævetids mål, lysande sfærar i universet, du som omkransar jordkvelven, evige skapning, stopp! Nok av verda, la meg vere! Stans, du skapande kraft urtanke, som skaper til evig tid! Hald pusten, still trongen, berre ein augneblinks fred. Svellande puls, som døyver slaga, stopp, viljas evige dag! Slik at eg i den søte gløymsla får kjenne gleda fullt og heilt. Når auge drikk i auge søkk sjel ned i sjel; vesen finn seg sjølv i andre vesen og målet for alt håp er nær når lepper teier i stille undring og sjela ikkje ynskjer meir: mennesket kjenner ævas fottrinn løyser gåta, heilage natur!
