Psalmus David.] Domine, Dominus noster, quam admirabile est nomen tuum in universa terra! quoniam elevata est magnificentia tua super cælos. 2 Ex ore infantium et lactentium perfecisti laudem propter inimicos tuos, ut destruas inimicum et ultorem. 3 Quoniam videbo cælos tuos, opera digitorum tuorum, lunam et stellas quæ tu fundasti. 4 Quid est homo, quod memor es ejus? aut filius hominis, quoniam visitas eum? 5 Minuisti eum paulominus ab angelis; gloria et honore coronasti eum; 6 et constituisti eum super opera manuum tuarum. 7 Omnia subjecisti sub pedibus ejus, oves et boves universas, insuper et pecora campi, 8 volucres cæli, et pisces maris qui perambulant semitas maris. 9 Domine, Dominus noster, quam admirabile est nomen tuum in universa terra!

1 [Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen auf der Githith.] Herr, unser Herrscher, wie herrlich ist dein Name in allen Landen, da man dir danket im Himmel! 2 Aus dem Munde der jungen Kinder und Säuglinge hast du eine Macht zugerichtet um deiner Feinde willen, daß du vertilgest den Feind und den Rachgierigen. 3 Denn ich werde sehen die Himmel, deiner Finger Werk, den Mond und die Sterne, die du bereitest. 4 Was ist der Mensch, daß du sein gedenkest; [und]1 des Menschen Kind, daß du dich sein annimmst? 5 Du wirst ihn lassen eine kleine Zeit von Gott verlassen sein.
