Ich bin die Rose auf der Au, Die still in Düften leuchtet; Doch du, o Liebe, bist der Thau, Der nährend [sie]1 befeuchtet. Ich bin der dunkle Edelstein, Aus tiefem Schacht gewühlet: Du aber bist der Sonnenschein, [Darin]2 er Farben spielet. Ich bin der Becher von Krystall, Aus dem der König trinket; Du bist des Weines süßer Schwall, Der purpur ihn durchblinket. Ich bin die trübe Wolkenwand, Am Himmel aufgezogen; Doch du bist klar auf mich gespannt Als bunter Regenbogen.
