Regne, regne, Frühlingsregen, weine durch die stille Nacht! Schlummer liegt auf allen Wegen, nur [dein treuer Dichter]1 wacht ... lauscht dem leisen, warmen Rinnen aus dem dunklen Himmelsdom, und es löst in [ihm]2 tiefinnen selber sich ein heißer Strom, läßt sich halten nicht und hegen, quillt heraus in sanfter Macht ... Ahndevoll auf stillen Wegen geht der Frühling durch die Nacht.
