Moon of copper... heavy perfumes... like lamps under a dome, the stars burn, the hour spreads fragrance; flowers are asleep in velvet. The languorous soul of the muffled gardens exhales stifling aromas. The water flowing over the polychrome rocks weeps constantly into the pools. No moving shadow of a leaf... Only your lips shine out, red, lit by the high torch flame; and you seem, in the night air, to be hard and fatal like an urn, the impenetrable urn of a tomb.
