Es steht ein Kelch in der Kapelle, neu, goldig, hell, auf dem Altar; auch das Metall brach an der Stelle, wo ich gehauen Jahr um Jahr. Seh' ich es nun in Pfarrers Händen, und Alt' und Junge um ihn her, seh' ich ihn Gottesgnaden spenden, fühl' ich mich priesterlich wie er. Und wenn ich selber vor ihm stehe, das Sacrament in Sinn und Herz, dann blick' ich auf den Kelch und flehe: verkläre mich wie dieses Erz !
