Wacht auf! wacht auf! ihr Thäler, Vom Winterschlaf so kalt, Und ziere dich mit Blumen Du Wiese, Feld und Wald. Wach auf! wach auf! zum Lichte, Du nachtumhüllte Saat, Sproß auf in tausend Halmen, Die Zeit des Maien naht. Wacht auf! wacht auf! ihr Schläfer, Zu Thaten aus der Ruh, Es ruft ein Bote Gottes, Der Frühling ruft's euch zu.
