Tu dors auprès de moi, comme un enfant ... J'écoute Ton souffle doux et faible et presque musical S'élevant, s'abaissant, selon un rythme égal ... Ton âme, loin de moi, suit une longue route ... Tes yeux las se sont clos, ô visage parfait ! Te contemplant ainsi, j'écoute, ô mon amante ! Comme un chant très lointain, ton haleine dormante ; Je l'entends, et mon cœur est doux et satisfait.
